In healthcare and wellness environments, the design must go beyond aesthetics to create spaces that promote comfort, calm, and healing. Architecture plays a pivotal role in shaping these environments, and one of the key factors in achieving this is spatial proportion.
In healthcare settings, where patients and visitors may already be under stress, a well-balanced environment can help alleviate some of that discomfort.
One particular area where proportions play an essential role is the reception space. It’s often the first point of contact for visitors, setting the tone for their entire experience. In this project, we focused on balancing the height and area of the reception, resulting in a space that feels open, calm, and non-oppressive. The thoughtful use of vertical and horizontal dimensions created an atmosphere that was both inviting and functional, promoting a sense of comfort the moment someone steps inside.
This attention to proportion was not limited to the reception area but extended throughout the building. Whether in hallways, treatment rooms, or waiting areas, the design maintained a sense of harmony. Each space was carefully planned to ensure that it felt neither too cramped nor too vast, striking the right balance for its intended function.
